In New Frontiers, you will find portals that are impossible to blockade, dense forests for skulking marauders, and seaside landings for fleets of invaders to storm. There will be mountains and hills for those interested in commanding the high ground, ruins to infiltrate, plus canyons and other bottlenecks to control.

Terrain

There are two special types of terrain that are unique to New Frontiers, Steep Terrain and Marshland.

Steep Terrain

Areas with one way terrain are generally found along riverbanks, gorges/canyons and mountain passes. There areas with fairly steep inclines. When you attempt to climb these areas, your character will start moving slower.

Marshland

Marshes generally have low levels of water throughout the area.

Coastal Attacks

There are certain spots along the coasts of each peninsula that allow for relatively safe landings, with good visibility.

Coastal Island Keeps:

·         Caer Benowyc (Hadrian's Wall),

·         Bledmeer Faste (Odin's Gate)

·         Dun Crauchon (Emain Macha)

The bridges to these coastal island keeps provide quick access in and out. The rest of the coastline around each of these keeps is flat beach to allow for clear visibility when assaulting the island.

River Attacks

Accessible from the great rivers of each realm is a keep on an island. Troops may advance by land or water to reach these keeps.

Center Island Keeps:

·         Caer Boldiam (Pennine Mountains)

·         Glenlock Faste (Jamtland Mountains)

·         Dun nGed (Breifine)

These keeps have three bridges leading to them, providing fast access. The coastline in the direction of the Keep facing is a flat beach to allow for clear visibility when assaulting the island. The rest of the island has the hill with the lip that prevents visibility until you're all the way up top.

Marsh Attacks

These three keeps are both surrounded by marshland.

Marsh Keeps:

·         Caer Erasleigh (Hadrian's Wall)

·         Hlidskialf Faste (Jamtland Mountains)

·         Dun Bolg (Emain Macha)

Beyond the Milegate Walls

Border Keeps

The border keeps are where people zone into the Frontier from their homeland. These keeps are designed to allow access across a wide area, both outside and inside the relic defense wall (milegate). This forces relic raiders to blockade two areas to stop reinforcements during a relic raid.

The rivers have rock formations that prevent water travel past the milegates.

Relic Town

The relic towns are in the relative safety behind the milegate walls. The demand for supplies and services for those fighting in Frontiers has allowed the town to prosper greatly and become a full service town that provides just about anything your heart could desire. Trainers, merchants, crafting tables; you name it, it's here. However, the merchants in this town must be protected, and if the town is ransacked by enemy forces, it may take a while before the townspeople return to their duties.

Neutral Territories

The Isle of Agramon

Agramon is a large central island located in the North Irish Sea that divides the three realms. The purpose of this center island is to allow all realms to participate in RvR at a central location that is easy to access and to allow easier movement between all three realms. Set in the middle of the North Sea, Agramon, a place of varying terrain, landmarks and wide open fields, places the battlefield in the front yard of each realm's beachhead keep.

Agramon is also where you will find the main entrance to the Labyrinth.

Irish Sea

The Irish Sea is a large body of water that separates the Hibernian peninsula from the Albion peninsula.  Boat travel is commonly used to traverse this area, but there is nothing of note in the area for capture.  The sea used to extend further north until the island of Agramon erupted from the sea floor.
